Could you also mention TechInfoDepot in the site message? --  DarkShadow   talk    contribs   09:08, 29 September 2019 (EDT)

It is done. --M86 (talk) 11:43, 29 September 2019 (EDT)

Activity

Are you back in the game? I see your activity on the wiki is on the rise.

I lack the motivation to play a game I see as lame, tedious, and pointless. I still think it's a rad idea and I don't mind others playing, but I'm completely burned out. I regret creating the game board, in some respects, but it is what it is.

I am aware. --M86 (talk) 22:41, 25 June 2019 (EDT)

How do you think of transferring wikidevi ownership to a new admin? Over the past four years I have spent countless hours of scraping hardware info from the net, filling it into the OpenWrt wiki, and wikidevi was always my first choice for such information. If wikidevi didn't exist, it needed to be invented.

Please let me know if you are interested in giving wikidevi in good hands and let it live for longer.

tmomas (OpenWrt wiki admin)   Tmomas   talk    contribs

I absolutely do not mind transferring the domain over to trusted parties that wish to keep things operational. The VPS (and possibly the raw db dumps [primarily, the user database]) would be more squirrelly - I'd kind of prefer to retain control.

That being said, all of the currently available content would be available in the MediaWiki exports that are available now, or will be made available. It's essentially a MediaWiki install, configuration, and an import away from being functionally identical.

If you are seriously interested, you are welcome to follow up @ wikidevi@gmail.com

Ethernet (smart) switch ES fields

Would it be possible to create a form for smart switches which adds the switch specific fields to the Wired Embedded System form?

RayKnight (talk) 23:54, 29 June 2019 (EDT)

Yes, it would be possible, that way, or the reverse. If they are solely smart switches, I would probably shove everything into the switch specific template. It'd be simple to create additional fields to submit the information, but the rest would have to be bodged into the existing templates (or done properly, but that would require actual work). --M86 (talk) 00:19, 30 June 2019 (EDT)

The entry for Netgear GS716T v2 is how I've been doing it, but that is awkward and doesn't lend to later edits. I'm willing to do the work, but don't really know how to edit templates. --RayKnight (talk) 01:35, 1 July 2019 (EDT)

You are welcome to look into it, but the templates are an unreadable mess. If I'm up to it, I'll look into it later. --M86 (talk) 18:24, 1 July 2019 (EDT)

.. I guess it's all bodged into there - I think it should be mostly operational, though, imperfect. --M86 (talk) 14:04, 4 July 2019 (EDT)

Thank you, just used it for the Netgear GS510TP entry! --RayKnight (talk) 02:07, 5 July 2019 (EDT)
