This device is an ORiNOCO PC Card in an adapter which allows it to be used over a USB bus. The adapter uses a Cypress EZ-USB chip.
This device is not to be confused with the ORiNOCO LC USB Client, which has essentially the same appearance.. but instead of an ORiNOCO PC Card, the device integrates all components onto a single board (and also uses a newer Ruby radio, which requires newer firmware).
This device was also sold as the Zoom 4115. The HP P1980A is a Silver USB Client (with the same USB ID as the standard ORiNOCO client - 047e:0300).
