I'm not completely for sure about this, but there appears to be 10K pullup resistors across the RX and TX line. I had to desolder these and replace it with a solder bridge to receive anything on the serial port --108.235.251.46 19:29, 3 June 2012 (EDT)

reg bcm6361 / bcm6362

the 'gDectTestMode' / 'gDectBuffStart' strings are likely not necessarily indicative of anything useful - they seem to be found on other bcm96362 based routers using bcm6361 (see the SerComm SHG1500 on the OpenWrt Wiki, w/ detailed pictures here.. and perhaps some of Billion's routers).
.. not that it really matters, of course - there does not seem to much (if any?) difference between the two..
